ITEC, LONDON, Booth #400, May 16, 2006 - MÄK Technologies, the world's leading supplier of distributed simulation software, and DiSTI, the developer of GL Studio and a leading provider of Human Machine Interface (HMI) design and prototyping software, today announced a strategic partnership that will lead to a closer integration of the companies' products for improved interoperability.
Under this agreement, DiSTI will release GLS Link, a software library extension that brings the power of MÄK's VR-Link networking toolkit to GL Studio, DiSTI's HMI development toolkit. With this new plug-in GL Studio users can connect their visual front end to a DIS or HLA data stream. Users can map data from DIS and HLA interactions using configuration files and minimal coding. The library will also support reading data, such as button or switch positions in GL Studio and sending it to other DIS and HLA compliant applications. DiSTI will be demonstrating GLS Link at ITEC, booth #400.
Also under the partnership, the companies are developing a GL Studio plug-in to the MÄK Stealth 3D viewer. The new plug-in will display any GL Studio component in the Stealth's 3D view. With these combined tools, users will have the ability to add the cockpit visuals of GL Studio to the out-the-window visuals of the MÄK Stealth.
MÄK AND DiSTI PARTNER
"The partnership between MÄK and DiSTI is a huge step forward to creating a final turnkey solution for the customers of both companies," said Joe Swinski, chief executive officer of DiSTI. "DiSTI and MÄK have successfully worked together for many years and have now formalized an agreement to align our engineering efforts and make a more seamless and efficient integration path for our COTS products. We are looking forward to a long and mutually successful business relationship."
"This partnership just makes sense," said Marc Schlackman, MÄK Technologies' vice president of sales and marketing. "MÄK and DiSTI have partnered on training for six years. Expanding this relationship to our best-of-breed COTS products is the next logical step. The tighter integration of GL Studio, VR-Link and the MÄK Stealth brings our customers the powerful features of all three tools in a more complete simulation solution, saving development time and dollars."
GLS Link is available now, and the GL Studio plug-in for MÄK Stealth will be available in the 3rd Quarter.
