Concurrent to Offer DiSTI's® GL Studio Software to Simulation Customers
Through Worldwide Sales Channels
ATLANTA, February 18, 2003 - - Concurrent Computer Corporation (www.ccur.com), Real-Time Division, today announced the signing of a reseller alliance that will make GL Studio™ software available on Concurrent's iHawk™ Series 860 systems through Concurrent's worldwide sales force. The agreement offers Concurrent's commercial and government simulation customers a robust, cost-effective Intel/Linux-based platform with high-quality rapid application development tools for creating real-time interactive 3D graphics.
GL Studio™ is a rapid application development ("RAD") toolkit for building photo-realistic, interactive 3D graphical displays and simulations with real-time performance. Software features include fast 3D graphics, photo-realistic texture mapping and blending, joined with high-speed, flicker-free double buffered animation and generation of portable C++ and OpenGL source code. Business benefits include reduced cost of development/deployment, amazingly realistic graphics and reusable, portable components. Line art and poor quality cartoon-type graphics for user interfaces are a thing of the past.
Concurrent's iHawk™ Series systems are powered by Intel Pentium Xeon™ processors and Concurrent's RedHawk™ Linux® real-time operating system. Based on the popular Red Hat® Linux operating system, RedHawk, is a POSIX-compliant, real-time enhanced version of the open source Linux kernel. iHawks are true symmetric multiprocessors (SMP) that are ideally suited for real-time applications. iHawk systems running RedHawk offer a streamlined solution for simulation, data acquisition, industrial system and control environments. Technical collaboration with DiSTI® offers Concurrent's iHawk Series customers the assurance of a high-level quality graphics solution from a partner with extensive simulation graphics experience.
"We anticipate the business alliance with DiSTI will be a key element to Concurrent's strategy to fortify its position as a systems integration solutions provider, specifically as a provider of integrated real-time graphics solutions," said Ken Jackson, vice president of Business Development. "DiSTI's graphics software combined with Concurrent's iHawk Series systems, real-time systems integration experience and worldwide sales and support channel offer our simulation customers the graphics alternative that is needed in the marketplace. We are delighted to have formed this alliance."
"Distributing GL Studio through Concurrent will broaden the visibility and availability of our product," said Joe Swinski, president of DiSTI. "Concurrent's RedHawk Linux environment is a great match for the type of customer base that uses GL Studio in the military and commercial markets. We look forward to working with their sales and technical team."
